Suggest Treatment For Itching Sensation On The Scalp

My scalp has been itching so badly it’s so sore. I feel like there are insects crawling and biting sometimes. There are two small bumps w/no liquids. I ordered some clove oil today! In the interim I went to my kitchen cupboards and sprinkled cinnamon and ground cloves and even mashed up whole cloves and stuck them in my hair. I’m sooo miserable and desperate. I’m afraid to go to bed. Help!!!!

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

As per your case history of itching on the scalp, my treatment advice is -
1. Avoid using hair oil for at least 30 days.
2. Apply a topical antifungal lotion-like clotrimazole lotion twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral fluconazole, itraconazole, and terbinafine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
