Hello. Thank you for writing to us

Acne is due to an interplay of various factors like excess oil production coupled with sticky epidermal lining cells of hair follicle, a bacterium which is present in hair follicle i.e propionibacterium acnes and inflammation.
Together these factors are responsible for acne.
Acne is not related to diet neither is due to allergy to food or something like that.
Since you seem to have inflammatory acne i.e acne that is red, painful and itchy therefore, you are a candidate for one of the antiacne oral antibiotics like doxycycline, azithromycin or minocycline.
Oral antibiotics bring about more effective control in inflammatory acne. Oral antibiotics can be continued for 4- 12 weeks depending on the severity of acne and response to treatment.
Besides Oral antibiotics I will also suggest topical antiacne antibacterial preparations like benzoyl peroxide Or clindamycin gel twice daily.
I suggest you to visit a dermatologist. Your dermatologist will assess the severity of your acne and advice accordingly.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have itchy and painful acne which shows severe infection known as cystic acne. These acne needs immediate treatment as otherwise it will leave scars on face. I would suggest you to take antibiotic like minocycline 50 mg daily in morning and isotretinoin capsule. Apply clindamycine gel twice daily or retinoid gel. You should use benzoyl peroxide face wash and give cold compresses. . If condition doesn't get improved in a month then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe steroid ointment and antibiotic like clindamycin. Apply vitamin C serum at night .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
