Suggest Treatment For Itchy Anus

About 7-8 days back, my anus started itching terribly throughout the day. However, i found no lumps or bumps and noticed no bleeding. The itch got worse and over the next 2-3 days started stinging and burning. Certain parts of the anus started stinging and burning more. I went to the doctor who suggested a mix of antibiotics, metronazidole and tronolane cream. I have been taking these for 3 days now and noticed only minor improvement in symptoms. Also, the three areas/parts that were itching/burning more have swollen a little and i can feel sore hard lumps (like mosquito bites). I am not sexually active and feel NO pain during passing stool. No blood either. I took a blood test and white bood cells are normal. Platelets are slightly raised. Please help me!

Hi
Itching over anal region could be due intestinal parasites, diarrhoea, candidiasis or anal fissures etc.
You must be diagnosed before taking any specific treatment.
For that, you must be checked by surgeon for complete history and thoroughly clinical examination.
You may require routine blood count, stool examination for R/M ova and cyst and proctoscopy etc.
Treatment is mainly depend on the underlying cause but you may require full course of antibiotics (quinolones-ofloxacin with antiprotozoals like metronidazole/tinidazole/ornidazole) for minimum 7 to 10 days with antihelminthic, antihistamines and topical steroids and lignocaine in combination for symptomatic relief.
Thanks.
