Suggest Treatment For Itchy Bruises On The Knee

Why do bruises itch? Three days ago I was walking to my children s school when I slipped and fell on an ice covered side walk and slammed my knee into the pavement. I went to urgent care to make sure I didn t break the knee cap. Luckily no fracture! Now the bruise that is on my knee as a result is itching and driving me crazy. Why does it itch and how do I make it stop, because when I itch it it hurts more.

Hello,
Thanks for the query.
you might be having a low platelet count and hence you are developing these bruises.
Get your platelet levels, bleeding and clotting time checked.
Sometimes spontaneous bruising might be associated with dangerous systemic conditions.
I suggest you to get a thorough check up done.
Usually it takes around 2 weeks for the bruise to heal,
you can use oint thrombophobe to get a faster relief.
A photograph would have helped me better.
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
