Suggest Treatment For Itchy Dry Red Patches On The Scalp
I have red, dry, scaly, patches on my scalp with raised plaques and itching. My few of my fingernails have slight ridges. Both index fingers are missahpen and often throb and are painful. I saw an MD who referred me to a dermatologist but I am wondering if it is more than a scalp condition, if they can diagnose it.

The picture that you have mentioned seems close to Psoriasis and you need proper assessment and counseling before you are put on treatment. In the meantime please use salicylic acid containing shampoos to get rid of the scales. Such shampoos are available as OTC products in most countries.
