Suggest Treatment For Itchy Hives All Over The Body
Was on prednisone for 3 weeks for bad hives. Tapered off exactly as doctor said and 3 days later I got a rash all over my body. Nothing as bad as the hives were, this one is not as itchy but doesn t feel very good. It s all over my body except for my hands feet and face. I just want to know how long this could last. Was on it once before 20 years ago and the rash came back for one year. Don t think I can stand it for another year.
Your problem is behaving as it does in many but eventually everything settles nicely. You might have to take anti allergic medication for a bit longer than what you did. sometimes combining the usual anti allergics like cetrizine with H2 anatagonist like cimetidine or ranitidine helps. Some physicians like to give mast cell stabilizers for longer duration while reserving steroids for acute episodes. I would like to assure you that if you be a little more proactive and try to find out a cause for allergy with your observations, it will help you and your physician immensely. Your urticaria is going to respond to above measures but please take regular medication for sustained relief and do not stop them abruptly. Best wishes
