I have keratoconus, I recently under went the intacs procedure. I have a pretty progressed state, with poor depth perception. I smoke marijuana to get away from the stresses of my life. My question is from a non biased right/wrong view. What effect if any does smoking marijuana have on my condition

Hello,

There are no relevant medical studies that compare the effect of using marijuana in patients with Keratoconus. Other than the Intacs implants, the other procedure to *stabilize* the progression of Keratoconus is Crosslinking. However, to improve the visual acuity hard contact lenses could be an option, while the definitive solution is undergoing corneal transplant. In my experience, regular follow ups with a cornea specialist should offer the best control and management options.
