Hi,

Struggling for penile insertion into the vagina does cause early ejaculation. Though you have diagnosed yourself to have low lubrication, your real problem seems to be difficulty in penile insertion. This can be due to vaginismus (contracting vaginal muscles during entry due to fear of pain). Of course, as you have mentioned, dry intercourse does cause pain and then vaginal contraction. Women start having vaginal secretions when they are having sexual desire.

So too early an attempt to insert would lead to dry intercourse. Also, too much of undue apprehension of expected pain during insertion makes the woman contract the vaginal muscles. This leads to painful insertion. I would offer you few tips:

1. Ask him to hold on till you are completely aroused sexually. Let him insert when you demand it.

2. Avoid handling the penis before insertion. This leads to early ejaculation.

3. While he is inserting, open your mouth wide and take deep breaths. This avoids contraction of vaginal muscles.

4. Use lubricants. Only water soluble lubricants like vaginal jelly or KY lubricating jelly should be used. Do not use oily lubricants as they are harmful to your reproductory organs.

5. Get internally examined from a gynaecologist for any evidence of any type of vaginal infection. Any vaginal infection does cause insertion painful.

If infection, get it treated. Please do not avoid sex. It will lead to further diffidence. I am sure with these practices, you will enjoy your sex fully, but it will take some time. Be patient and understanding to each other. Please report to a gynaecologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Nishikant Shrotri
