Suggest Treatment For Large Amount Of Mucus And Discomfort In Throat

I have mucous a significant amount around around my vocal cords. I found out on Friday the 9th. I keep losing my voice all short of breath and start coughing when I lying down. time. When I can speak my voice isn t clear. I have had this for 6 weeks this time. What can I do ? Is there a certain I need to see? Sue Rose

Read and understood your history and concerns.
The occurrence of excessive expectoration, inability to speak normally can be due to local problems like laryngitis or even cancer. This can be diagnosed by laryngoscopy and if required biopsy too.
Other reasons can be a neurological problem or severe infection in the chest.
I would advise you to have a thorough clinical check up by your Doctor, get referred to a specialist and investigated to get a proper diagnosis and treatment.
