Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was told 2 years ago that I might have what they call a leaky valve in my heart. Sometimes at night while I am lying down it feels like my heart stops beating and then a shock and it starts again, also it feels like I have air bubbles in my heart. Is that something to have checked out?
Hello, Get a 2D echocardiography done, this test is a simple non invasive test to know which valve is actually leaking and the extent of leak. Based on these finding one can decide on the treatment if ever it's needs to be given. Based on clinical examination where your doctor must have heard a heart murmur, suggesting a leaky valve.
