Suggest Treatment For Left Sided Sore Throat

I developed very sore throat on the left side, along with pain upon palpating both side of my external throat. This started last week. My throats appears red and white. I had a low grade temperature last week, but no Longer do. I get oral thrush from my combination inhaler, but my external threat never hurt as well.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Causes of unilateral throat pain are Peritonsillitis, Peritonsillar abscess, Dental caries, Glossopharyngeal neuralgia, TMJ dysfunction, Fungal infection, Tumors.

If there are white patches and history of inhalational steroid use high then there is a chance of candidiasis. Do rinsing of mouth and throat after using spray. Nystatin oral gargles might help you relieve fungal infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Manu Wilfred
