Suggest Treatment For Leg Cramps In An Elderly Person
I ma 63 year old white male. a little overweight and a little sedentary. Lately , recently i, getting legs cramps (calves) at night and they are getting more frequent . Lately I m getting them in my footarches and toes. (bottom of my feet)) Any connection to increased alcohol use. Will bananas, gator aid or magnesuim help? If don t sleep with my legs straight they seem pretty regular all night. Thoughts?
However old we are, we need to do a bit of exercise to keep our muscles toned up. Cramps can be due to deficiency of calcium, sodium, potassium, magnesium or vitamin E. Alcohol use leads to B complex deficiency that can also cause cramps. You can try Gatorade. The arch pain is due to lack of exercise or overweight.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Geeta Sundar
