I did one treatment on my daughter for head lice. I found no actual lice but two or three nits. we are 4 days into the first treatment of liceMD and her head is not so much itchy but she says it has a tickle sensation. Could she still have them. I look through her hair every night since treatment and it is looking very clean. I plan on doing another treatment as back-up. What are your thoughts?
Hello, Thank you for posting on HCM. In cases of Head lice infestation, I generally recommend a week long course of oral antibiotic like cotrimoxazole. Also I recommend application of permethrin 1% lotion followed by hairwash after 1 hour and manual removal of lice and nits with comb. Repeat the application of permethrin lotion after 10 days. Oral antihistaminics like Benadryl can be taken to relieve itching. Hope this will resolve the issue. Thank you Dr Hardik Pitroda
