Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic
You seem to have a generalized/ widespread involvement.
Lichen planus (LP) has an autoimmune etiology. It presents as itchy, polygonal, flat lesions which are mostly over the legs, flexor arms, sides of abdomen. Itching is a prominent feature in lichen planus.
The diagnosis of LP is mostly clinical however a
skin biopsy may be ordered to confirm the clinical diagnosis.
Topical treatment of lichen planus is with topical superpotent steroids e,g
clobetasol propionate cream OR
Halobetasol propionate cream, twice daily.
In addition to topical steroids, in case of generalized/widespread disease pulse oral steroids can be started.
Oral hydroxychloroquin is also an option for widespread involvement with lichen planus.
These are all prescription products and therefore I would suggest that you visit a
dermatologist in your region for the needful.
Your dermatologist would be able to examine and assess the severity as well as extent of the disease and advice accordingly.
An OTC antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily would provide you symptomatic relief from itching.
