Suggest Treatment For Lichen Sclerosus

Hi I am a 54 year old white female, I am in good health for the most part. I eat healthy! Drink red wine occasionally and don t smoke or do recreation drugs. I worked in healthcare for 20+yrs. I was being treated some 9yrs ago for a stricted ureathral (weekly dilations), around that time I also stopped taking HRT, which I was on for about 25 years. I suddenly started experiencing an excrutiating itch in my private area, would not go away, did not spread. I thought I was having a allergic reaction to the latex or the betadine being used. So I asked that they did not use the betadine. Over time the itch did not go away, however I started to itch in one small.area on my back. I could actually pin point it. My husband kept telling me there was no rash, no marks but the it would not stop. Then the top of my head started to itch and a spot in my left ear. This all comes and goes, some days to bad others days I want scratch til it bleeds. I have been to 3 dermatologist, 3 allergist, my back and my labia have been bx d and diagnosed with lichon sclerosis. Hjowever, no one knows what s going on with my head and in my ear. The bx for my head was negative. About 3 years ago I noticed at the same time my wrist were discolored, dark purplish in color, and it looks like it is errupting below the surface, doesn t itch or hurt, just looks like the skin is thinning out. Now this is spreading and overing a larger area over time. Any advise or help would greatly be appreciated. This has been very difficult, thanks in advance.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
I can understand your concern for the lichen sclerosus. After analyzing your query with best diligence I can make out that it is quite long period of time since you have got this condition. You have not mentioned whether you have consulted a dermatologist or not. In your kind of cases it is quite important to consult a good dermatologist in person and take the best appropriate suggestions.
In your kin of cases I prefer to give a mild to moderate topical steroid along with immunomodulator drugs. If required a short course of oral steroid can be given for early recovery. I suggest you to meet a dermatologist and get yourself examined properly.
All the best.
