Suggest Treatment For Light Pink Spotting With Discomfort And Urgency To Urinate

I m 18 on Orthitricyclen (birth control) and sexually active with a boyfriend. I had a UTI last month and finished the antibiotics even though I m allergic to sulfa. I got my period a week ago but I m having light pink spotting with discomfort and urgency to pee. I take my pills consistently and havent missed any and he never ejaculates in me if we do without a condom, just worried I m pregnant or sick in some way.. I ve also taken 2 pregnancy tests and they came out negative but I just want to be sure.

Hello,

You are sexually active and on BC pills. You have history of UTI and had taken antibiotics prescribed to you. You had your periods a week ago and have again started getting urgency to pee, you are also having light pink spotting. You got negative pregnancy test reports. You do not have unprotected sex.

You are suggested to get repeat urinalysis (R/E and C/S) done. Sometimes, UTI becomes recurrent. If report comes positive you should take a repeat dose of the antibiotics indicated in the test report. However, taking antibiotic may reduce the affinity of the CP pills so avoid unprotected sex to prevent getting pregnant.

If you miss the periods get pregnancy test done with the first morning mid-stream urine. Get also clinically examined by a Gynae, it will be accordingly managed. Your partner should also get urinalysis (R/E and C/S) done. If report is positive, he should also be treated. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
