Suggest Treatment For Lightheadedness And Headache
My husband has been complaining of light headedness, headaches ( which he never gets). Dr checked heart blood and vitamin levels - all normal. He has had tinnitus for over a year now. He has low blood pressure, but that is not new. He doesn t sleep through the night easily any more. He is tired most of the time. He does snore. He has not checked with ENT or had a sleep study on him. THOUGHTS? Dr says wants to do a brain scan if symptoms do not go away. They have lasted about 3 weeks now.
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. Chronic low grade headache with normal BP and normal blood tests could occur due to chronic tension type of headache. He is not able to sleep in night, remain tired through out the day, has tinnitus and all these symptoms can be seen in CTTH (tension headache). He should be examined by an ENT doctor to rule out any significant cause of tinnitus. If every thing come normal consult a psychiatrist for his problems. In CTTH low doses of drugs like Amitryptiline, Nortryptiline can help to reduce the symptoms of headache. The drugs helps to control the headache and will cause good sleep. Drugs like Propranolol can help to reduce anxiety and will reduce episodes of headache. Visit a psychiatrist for prescription of these drugs.
Thanks, hope this helps you.
