The frequency, relation with alteration in food and type of food is of vital importance to be co related clinically. The transient changes in bowel habits may follow after certain food or viral bacterial infection of some sort, which are transient and self-limiting in most instances.
If persistent over a period of time, some sort of inflammatory bowel condition, unresolved infection or other issues have to be evaluated with expert gastro enterologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
