Suggest Treatment For Loose Stool When Diagnosed With A Polyp

I have started having a change in my BM s. Not every day, but several afternoons I have either diareah or mud like texture bm s. I don t feel sick at all, but it is quite bothersome. It s like they leak or ooze out. I am 65 & have had a recent colonoscopy which did show a polyp so I have to have a recheck in 5 years.

Hello,

Usually, polyp does not give diarrhea, unless there is mucosa inflammation.

Guidelines at present are:
- Consume more liquids
- Diet should be avoiding excess dairy fat, high cholesterol, non veg stuffs
- Addition of fresh yogurt, organic fresh fruits
- Get prescription of GI antibiotic with metronidazole and pro biotics with lacto bacillus with your doctor
- Consult your gastroenterologist as per the progress

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
