Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Many causes for loss of voice like:
1. Laryngitis
2. Nerve palsy
3. Infection
4. Secondary to tonsillitis
5. Vocal nodule.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Avoid cool drinks and ice creams. Use tablet levocetirizine twice a day for five days. Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption. If no improvement please consult with your ENT specialist he will examine by indirect laryngoscopy and treat you accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
