Hello I am worried about my dad he lives with us , he is a diabetic he is 81 but he told me today that some times he hears a loud noise in his head , at first he thought it was a noise in the house or yard but now he says it is in his head I have noticed his hearing isnt good in his left ear
Hi, Hearing noises is called auditory hallucination, but in your dad's case, it seems to be something coming from his ears, possibly tinnitus. Aged people will develop sclerosis of labrynth, resulting in reduced hearing and tinnitus (presbyacusis).
A ENT consultation and few drugs like gingko biloba, beta histine will help. hope this helped.
