Suggest Treatment For Low Heart Functioning And Shortness Of Breath

Had a heart attack in Nov 2011 Recently completed a nuclear stress test. They also did some pictures. I was told my heart is functioning at 35% Severely scarred heart. Bottom tip looks.dead. I have constant stress it seems. I work as a Probation Officer. I also take care of my elderly mother ( early.stages of dimenria) Very difficult I feel i cant do both? If i continue i feel i will have another HA! I probably wont survive. ??? Heart has not improved i 3 years. Is disability a option or am i wasting my time? My friends say i cant continue doing both? What is your expert opinion. Yes. I feel fatigued and shortness of breath occasionally .

I am very sorry for that . you have not given any detail about your treatment taking at present . At your stage of heart functioning you have to be in continuous supervision of a cardiologist . Make sure that you are taking salt and saturated fat restricted diet..check you r taking beta blocker ACE inhibitor diuretics that must include spironolactone apart from this you need anti platelets ex aspirin and for dyslipidemia statins . All these drugs have mortality benefits . Get your hemoglobin level checked . Anaemia is common precipitating factor for heart failure that must be managed immediately . Hb level should be above 12 gm%.apart from this avoid doing strenuous activities that is causing you chest discomfort or breathlessness .If because of all this chronic problems you are stressed you must take anti anxiety treatment also.all these medicines should be given under supervision of a doctor . Because you may have contraindications for one or more .It has been observed that with increasing dose of beta blocker and ace inhibitors you will be get maximum benefits in cardiac remodeling etc with mortality benefits..so you must consult a qualified doctor for that..don't loose heart . Everything will be all right .
