Hello, I have been having some pretty bad pain to the left and right sides of me lower spine right at the belt line. I have had trouble with my lower back before but I can usually work through it with some stretching and twisting to pop my lower back. This time it have been worse and is accompanied by indigestion and my ankles are swollen. There is no tenderness in my ankles but there is some numbness. The digestion goes away if I eat a meal or that an antacid. I have not ever had these symptoms all at the same time before and its been a week or so. Have any ideas?

Your symptoms do not seem to be related to any serious medical disorder. Anyway, considering your swollen ankles, I would recommend performing some tests: - a lumbar spine X ray study - a cardiac ultrasound to exclude heart failure - kidney and liver function tests - complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate for inflammation - blood electrolytes - vitamin D plasma levels - A Doppler ultrasound of the leg vessels. You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests. I would be glad to review your tests for a more professional opinion. Hope you will find this answer helpful! Best regards!
