On 11-17-16, I had TLIF at L3-4 and L4-5. After noticing drop foot in December, I had EMG and was told I have lumbar-sacral plexopathy. I have continued to try to stay optimistic about the recovery but I stay anywhere from pain level 2-6. From mid to low back, I am hypersensitive. I cannot stand for anything to touch my back. I started PT 3 weeks ago to see if I can build my core muscles and leg strengthening. My right leg (one that had drop foot after surgery) is weak. I called the surgeon office again today and they want to repeat the EMG. Your thoughts?
I understand your concern and would recommend discussing with your doctor on the possibility of starting Gabapentine or Pregabaline for the pain control. I would also recommend a lot of physiotherapy and vitamin supplements including Alpha-Lipoic Acid.
