I have a scar on my right middle knuckle that has a lump under neath it. It started out small and gradually got bigger. It will occasionally itch or irritate me. This has happened once before. The scar is relatively new(happened this passed summer). Any ideas what's going on?
Hi,Dear, Thanks for the query to HCM. I studied your problem in depth and I understood your concerns. Treatment - The scar of recent origin is in healing process. But it seems you have excessive collagen response leading to kelloid tumour-which is non-malignant.Such keloids are known to cause itching-and indicates a healing process of shrinking by fibrosis. I would advise you to apply some anti-inflammatory oint locally to reduce the inflammatory process at site / and to consult a Surgeon for any intra-cuticular steroid injection. So don't build up wrong concepts and create more psychic complications in you which would increase risks and costs to you, but just ask a query to HCM and be comfortable to resolve your health issues. Welcome for any more query in this regard to HCM. Write good resume and Click thanks if you feel satisfied with my advise. Have a Good Day. Dr.Savaskar M.N.
