I have a hard almost sausage shaped lump that is under my bottom right rib, and starts just at the side of my abdomen (4 inches off centre) and goes around the side of my body. Its not particularly painful but it is very noticeable when touching the area. Its not part of my ribs and it feels as though it goes alongside the bottom of the rib. What could this be? Ive had it for a year but i think its getting bigger. Also suffering from daily bloating distension and wind. Thanks
Hi, It sounds like a Lipoma in your anterior abdominal wall. It is usually harmless and nothing to worry about. You can have it examined by your GP or a Surgeon who can advice you as to what it is and the further course of management. It is difficult to tell what it is without examination. Though it sounds like a Lipoma(Swelling containing fat cells). Do not worry and get it checked up to be sure. Take care, Dr Rishi, New Delhi, India.
