Lymes disease is an infection caused by a bacteria known as Borelia burgdorferi and is transmitted by ticks. It presents with anualar lesions on the skin which is known as erythema chronicum migrans. The treatment of choice is Doxycycline in the dose of 200 mg daily.Other treatment options include amoxycillin and cefuroxime. In the late stage it may also need injectable antibiotics.Consult your dermatologist regarding the above mentioned therapy.
