Suggest Treatment For Metallic Taste In The Throat
I have had a horrible metallic taste in the back of my throat the entire time I've been sick. I keep expecting to have a bunch of blood when I blow my nose, because that's what it tastes like, but it's not bloody at all. Why do I continue to have this nasty metallic taste in my throat?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain metallic taste in the back of throat can be due to common causes like: 1.Acid Reflux. 2.Post Nasal Drip. 3.Side effects of medicines. 4. Upper respiratory tract infection. 5.Tonsil stones etc.. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations as per suspected cause can help in confirmation of the cause and treatment of underlying cause can help resolution of the symptoms.. As of now you should start gargling with a flavoured mouthwash to mask the bad taste.. You should start chewing flavoured sugarfree chewing gums.. Gargle with 1:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water.. Drink plenty of water..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
