Suggest Treatment For Migraine Headache

My 56 year old son had a stroke, left brain , proceed by 2 days of migraine / severe!! Migraines... Partial removal-surgical..now blood thinners, unconscious 4 days, inter cranial pressure, now normal, Has had 4 days of rehab, now bing discharged to home & family care. Family is anxious re his potential of home risks. Any advice for us/ family 5 days..

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM! I understand your concern.

I would like to explain that in this situation the potential risks would be a second stroke. But it is less possible now, due to the preventive therapy with blood thinners ( antiplatelets or anticoagulation therapy).
A healthy diet would be also helpful ( low salt intake, no caffeine or alcohol, low cholesterol or fat, low carbohydrates).

I would advise you to regularly monitor his blood pressure and avoid emotional stress.

The best thing to do in this period is to continue physiotherapy for some months, because this is the only way to regain as much as possible his motor skills in the limbs.

If he has troubles with speaking, I would recommend to consult him with a logotherapist.
