Suggest Treatment For Migraine Problem

I am on disability for chronic migraine disease (80% of my life w/ migraine) following a TBI a long time ago. Frovatriptan has proven the most effective triptan. However, it is becoming cost prohibitive, particularly with my reduced income due to being on disability. Is there a generic form of Frova available or, at least, on the horizon?

Hi

I understand your concern.
Frovatriptan is one of the best medicine for acute migraine headche but it is costly . Alternatively medicine like almotriptan /sumatriptan is also beneficial for acute migraine attack.

Prophylactic medicines are best for prevention of such migraine. Migraine prophylaxis is usually advisable if you have frequent migraine attack.

Prophylactic medicines like flunarizine / amitriptiline / topiramate / sod valporate / propranalol etc can help.

Discuss with your treating doctor about such options.
