Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had at least 3 strokes in May 2013 (2 MRI)s no lasting problems except constant post nasal phlegm causing constant clearing of my throat and mild cough. I am on Plavix as well as several Blood pressure medicines. I also have CDK third stage. What could be causing this? I take Claritin-D also.
Presumably one is taking claritin D for something other than stroke and plavix. Whatever one took the claritin D for would likely cause post-nasal drip and phlegm. I might also mention that beta blockers such as atenolol, toprol, coreg, etc by blocking stress hormones are likely to act oppositely from the decongestant in the claritin D and 1) cause nasal congestion and 2) interact badly with the decongestant in claritin D.
