Suggest Treatment For Muscle Fatigue, Back Pain And Edema In The Lower Extremities

Over the past few months, I have had increased fatigue with back pain and lower extremity pitting edema with shiny skin on my lower legs and back of hands. I did ask my Physician to put me on wellbutrin to quit smoking and within a couple of weeks I noticed increase muscle fatigue and pain so I stopped that med. I still have this now off and on. I have showed RBC s in my urine the past 3 times with no infection. I did ask Doctor to do EBv testing which showed no active mono but the other titers were real high. I have elevated sed rate and CRP. I do have IC and interstitial Cystitis, Sphincter of oddi Dysfunction along with Bursitis in my hips. I have not had a bone scan or xrays on my back or ankle and the specialist thinks it is Fibro but did no diagnostic testing and all my labs were not there for review. I need to know where do I start to try and find answers. I dont want meds I just want to know whats wrong and how to treat. I do have an ortho appointment next week for back and hip. Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As first-line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief. We have to rule out possible conditions like fibromyalgia. If symptoms persist better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
