Suggest Treatment For Muscle Weakness And Blurred Vision
a patient comes into office complaining of muscle weaknees and blurred vision. His vision is tested and he has astigmatism, 20/80 vision, abnormal knee jerk reflexes, and an abnormal pupillary reflexes. What condition does he have. Oh. he is 70 years old.

Some important data is lacking however I can understand the problem of this gentleman.
I am of the opinion that he is likely to be suffering from Neurosyphilis known as Tabes dorsalis which typically occurs approximately 20-30 years after the initial exposure to Treponema pallidum which is a sexually transmitted disease.
Tabes dorsalis has become uncommon, but this is likely to be the only manifestation of neurosyphilis that has been altered during the antibiotic era
Such patients respond to Penicillin.
