I have been diagnosed with Musical Ear Syndrome and have had it for about 20 months. I have tried many medications but nothing helped and I had side effects from the meds as well. I hear Hymns, Christmas Carols and music, patriotic songs plus songs from my childhood - I am 69. It started abruptly and first I thought someone was playing Christmas music early (October). Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do to hopefully get clear of it altogether.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Having musical ear syndrome is a rare thing. There is no actual treatment for such a problem as this comes under the tinnitus category. MRI of the brain and the ears in detail may find out some problems. If normal you can consult a Psychologist or Psychiatrist. And be prepared that you have to live with it. You can certainly try the alternative methods like meditation, acupressure and so on.
