A couple of days ago, I had my tongue pierced. I did extensive research before I even considered it and after several years, I decided to go through with it. The piercing didn t hurt: Felt like I bit my tongue. However, three days later, my tongue is significantly swollen. I knew would happen, but it s getting to the point where my tongue is almost as big as the piercing (and I think it s one of the biggest you can get. Not as long as my pinky but pretty damn close). As well, I am having issues speaking, eating, and drinking - this I also knew would happen when I pierced it. The thing that is concerning me is that I am nauseous (not all the time, but far more than I d like), and it is sudden/acute and varies in it s severity. I haven t vomited, but I came pretty close multiple times. As well, I am weak in my arms, feeling funny (I don t know how else to describe it), and was having very severe pains on the right side of my head (in the back, and behind my ear; near the mastoid). The reason why I am asking on here is because I want to know if I have anything I need to be concerned about. I know that if you do have an infected tongue piercing, you don t want to take it out. But I am seriously feeling cruddy and am wanting it out of my life (sadly). I am seeing the doctor tomorrow (not about this, but I will be bringing it up). However, like I said, I am wanting an opinion ASAP. Is it okay for me to take it out now? I really, really want to.
