Suggest Treatment For Nderactive Thyroid

I've been feeling really ill, exhaused and have had an underactive thyroid since aged 8yrs.I'm now 39 years and my last blood test showed TSH level 10.5. My doctor has increased my thyroxine medication from 150 mcg to 200mcg. Is this the correct procedure without carrying out further tests

Detailed answer:
TSH is the best indicator that tells the efficacy of ongoing treatment for hypothyroidism.Without the need for further tests,the dose can be altered provided if either the previous dose was ineffective in controlling the clinical symptoms or causing the reverse situation i.e symptoms of hyperactive thyroid.So you need not be worried with this.I would also suggest to repeat TSH after 6 weeks and review with your treating doctor .Hope I have answered your query.If any further queries, happy to assist you..
