Suggest Treatment For Neck And Shoulder Pain Caused By An Injury

My 10 year old son fell on ice over the weekend and hit his head and back resulting in left side shoulder and neck pain along with electric shocks. His doctor has diagnosed him with whiplash but took an xray that revealed no broken bones. However he called this morning and said that they found either a bone island or a shadow on his shoulder bone. We are medically minded people, but until today I d never heard of a bone island. He has ordered an mri to make sure if what it is. Of course I m worried and the internet has only made it worse. Any insight to this would be great.
