Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am getting pain from neck to left shoulder blade and also experiencing numb ness in the fingers some times. I checked up with a Doctor , he advised X ray , ECG . My blood pressure is 140/90 . He said ECG report is normal . But for X ray he say a little curving of nerves is there and gave me some pain killers. Please advise I am still suffering from pain.
I have studied your case and I think you are having cervical spondylitis. Pain in neck along with shoulder pain is caused by disc herniation in the neck. It leads to compression of the nerve of shoulder and it causes pain. I have following suggestion for patients with cervical spondylitis. 1. Get MRI to confirm how severe is nerve compression. According to that we can plan further management. 2. Intermittent cervical traction exercise will help. Also neck muscle strengthening exercises is useful. 3. Avoid keeping neck in same position for long time and also do not use very big pillow. 4. Take Pregabalin and Methylcobal for shoulder pain. Muscle relaxant like Myoril or Myospaz is helpful for neck pain. I hope these measures will be helpful in you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions. thanks
