Hi welcome to HCM,
The membranes in your nose and sinuses are constantly producing mucus that acts as a protective blanket for your whole respiratory system."Normally, all that mucus travels to the back of your throat and you swallow it. When the cilia are damaged by smoking, the mucus backs up in the sinuses and bacteria start to multiply there. This can lead to a sinus infection. It causes constant irritation of throat due to post nasal drip and since cilia damaged thick mucus plugs block your nose often....take tablet cetirizine 5 mg with ambroxol 60 mg once a day at night for better temporary relief...You stop smoking your symptoms improve...get well soon..........
