Suggest Treatment For Numb Ear With Impaired Hearing
my right ear is numb (tho less now than 30 minutes ago). It was sudden. Frequency distortion, hisses and pops like a bad speaker at certain higher frequencies. Pop and crackle with concussive sounds. no blocked feeling, just less hearing. Enough to have trouble making out what my husband was saying to me when I turned to go downstairs. Numbness is like having had a novacaine shot that is mostly worn off. Extends from in hear to outer ear, and also superficially on my cheek.
Noted your history well and understood the concerns. The commonest causes I can think about your symptoms are as follows: Acute Otitis Media due to rush in of fluid from nose via Eustachian tube that increased pressure suddenly hence the problems. There may be associated nerve involvement like Herpes Zoster and one will have classical rash only after some days. Hence you should consult a Doctor, preferably ENT Surgeon so that a proper diagnosis and proper management can be done. Till then do not blow nose. Instill decongestant nasal drops. Take an antihistamine and anti-inflammatory medicine that suits you the best.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
