Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my mother is 93 and does fairly well for her age, has had back problems, shots and cementing which did not work. But the problem I heard about today from a sister is that she gets up with no feeling, with numbness in her legs and arms...says she feels like she is dying....that it is creeping up on her. She does not like going to doctors. Also I think she is anemic...always has been and gets shots every month. Any ideas?
There are two conditions which can cause such feeling. Either she is having vitamin B 12 deficiency or she is having a brain lesion. I would suggest you to get her serum B 12 estimation and her neurological evaluation. if there is some thing wrong come out then she can be treated for that condition.
