Suggest Treatment For Numbness In Feet/hands While Having Stomach Flu And Fever
A friend of mine recently was diagnosed with stomach flu and severe fever (104.7). 24 hours later she experienced numbness and extreme pain in feet and hands. Hours later she began to experience high heart rate, low blood pressure and respiratory issues and passed away that next morning. Sepsis is being mentioned. But could it have been caused by something else misdiagnosed?
Dear- thanks for using our service. Sepsis is an acute reaction that can cause a lot of complication and finally death. If your friend had an infection that produced severe fever this complicated with the spread of the infection through the whole body which caused a septic shock. That was why he had a increase in the heart rate and hypotension, creating a respiratory complication and finally death. It could be that was misdiagnosed or just that the bacteria was resistant to the antibiotics and it was so aggressive that did not have the opportunity to fight against it. I hope my answer was helpful Dr.Sara
