Suggest Treatment For Numbness In Lips After Tonsillectomy
Two days ago i had a tonsillectomy. I knoticed how my lower lip was numb on the right side and i thought it would go away, but its still there. I cant move my lower lip forward, open my mouth too wide and when chewing it feels as though its getting more numb. When i am drinking, between the glass and my lip it feels as though there is a small object that feels round. On the inside of my mouth i have a small cut on the area of the numbness.
Understanding your concern. As per your query numbness in lips 2 days after tonsillectomy is not an abnormal finding and you need not to worry about it as the numbness will subside gradually once the healing will proceed. It could be due to minor traumatic injury to nerve endings. I would suggest you to keep your lip moist by applying lip balm. Do lip exercises to increase blood circulation. In case if after another 3 to 4 days numbness does not start improving you need to consult your treating physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation has to be done to rule out any hidden cause and start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
