Suggest Treatment For Onychomycosis

I have onychomycosis but it doees not affect my toes or nails it does affect one foot only on my skin. It breaks out with tiny lumps that are very itchy n sore, the skin peels and becomes red where the infection spreads. I have been given terbinifine but my doctor has stopped after 3 months due to risk of liver problems. Prob is the infection just starts up and becomes very itchy quickly. I struggle to wear shoes or socks. Can you offerany suggestions please?

Hi.
As per your case history of onychomycosis, my treatment advice is -
1. Onychomycosis is fungal infection of nails. So your complain of skin infection is suggestive of paronychia.
2. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain and levocetrizine for itching.
3. Apply an antifungal cream like clotrimazole cream twice daily on it.
4. Other treatment options are oral fluconazole, itraconazole and terbinafine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
