Suggest Treatment For Oral Herpes And White Lines On Tongue

Hi my name is stu and I gue ss I was born with oral herpes because i have had it every since i was little. My question is am I having an outbreak when every morning i wake up I have white lines all over my tongue and if my lips are really dry and itchy.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain white lines on tongue is not an indication of herpes as herpetic cold sores occurs in the form of clusters of small ulcers or bumps..

White lines on tongue and dry itchy lips when waking up in the morning are an indication of mouth breathing.

In case if you sleep with mouth open the continuous in and out of air through mouth for breathing leads to dryness of lips and inside of mouth and the white lines can be due to dryness..
In this case a simple trick can work and you can stick a vertical strip of micropore tape or Doctor's tape over the closed lips for forcing nasal breathing..

In case if the white lines does not go away during the day also and are persistent then you should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated for conditions like Lichen Planus or Leukoplakia.
