Suggest Treatment For Osteoporosis While On Prolia

I am thinking about taking the drug, prolia. My doc has recommended it to me after a bone scan test revealed osteoporosis in an area in the spine and an area in the large bone in the upper leg. Overall, my numbers are in the osteopenia range but with these two areas, he has classified me overall as 2.2. I am 73 with no other significant health issues...female btw!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Of course you have the medicines for osteoporosis but it may not help you much because osteoporosis is the age-related condition and it may not be the pure form of pathological process.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
