Suggest Treatment For Outgrowth In Anal Opening

I m worried cos I m not sure of what s wrong with me. I ve always had this outgrowth in my anus-since I can t remember when it started- that I think is normal or thought so, not until last night when I started feeling some discomfort around d area like slight pain. Although I ve heard about piles but I don t just want to jump to conclusions. Also, I haven t been stooling blood or the other wierd stuff I hear about. Pls I d like to know what might be wrong. Thanks.

hi and welcome to HCM
From your description, you may have just a growth of skin called an anal skin tag. It is usually without symptoms, but if it has gotten infected or injured in any way, it could start paining.
Another possibility could be piles or hemorrhoids, which are dilated veins around the anus. They might be getting enlarged and painful. Constipation can make it worse. Bleeding may not occur in early stages.
In either case, it is best to consult a surgeon to confirm the diagnosis. They can guide you whether it needs antibiotics or if it needs surgical removal if it causes you trouble.
You can take a stool softener if constipation is causing you pain.
A simple skin tag need not be removed, but if infected, needs to be treated.
For now you can apply an antibiotic ointment for a few days and see if it helps.
Hope this guides you.
