Suggest Treatment For Pain After Maxilliofacial Operation

Hi I had maxilliofacial operation done more than 10 years ago and have plates fixed. Now I m getting pain in one side for the past 2 weeks and I started getting yellow colour pus from yesterday. Is that means that my plate is infected. Can it go away with medicine or I have to get the plate removed?

Thanks for reaching out to us..
It definitely seems to be an indication for infection in the area from which you have observed pus discharge..
It does not imply that you will need to get your plates removed as it also may be due to some superficial infection..
You need to take oral antibiotics for the same and kindly consult your oral physician at the earliest to prevent any complication and reduce the chances of requiring a plate removal..
Thanks and take care..
