General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
What you refer to is a very delicate and vascular part of vagina at the top, it's the clitoris which seems to got irritated due to friction, trauma, infection, when it gets swollen, angry, red and needs antibiotic, anti inflammatory drugs. It can even carry fungal infection. You should keep the area clean, do not rub or massage. Wear soft, loose hosiery pants. Apply Sofracort ointment gently. Consult your gynecologist for more specific advise.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Vasudha, General & Family Physician
