Suggest Treatment For Pain And Restricted Movement In The Foot

Hi Doctors I stupidly kicked a wooden pallet out of frustration last week and now my foot hurts. It hurts on the top of my foot mainly when my big toe moves up and down and at the base of my foot where it connects to my leg. It was swollen really bad the day of the accident and a couple days after and it hurt to walk on it but now the swelling is almost completely gone and I m left with a dull ache when I stand on it. Also, it hurts when I turn my foot in and up and out and up and for some reason when I m sitting for awhile and get up and put pressure on it again it feels like It s been trying to heal itself and when I stand on it I have to kind of limp on it at first and then it adjusts to the pressure and the pain goes away. I know that sounds weird. Does it sound like something I can heal on my own? I work in a distribution center and I ve had to be on my feet all this last week and it was hard at first but it s gotten a lot better. What do you think and what steps can I take on my own to rehabilitate this injury? Thank you for your help

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult an orthopedician and get evaluated.

It is better to go for an MRI scan to rule out possible ligament or tendon involvement.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
